At the Lancaster Archery Academy, we believe that any youth archer has the potential to become an Olympic Champion, that they can achieve goals beyond their wildest imagination. We believe these things because we know a secret. We know that the only thing that separates the best in the world from the ones who never try is that the best take their first steps in a sport...and then take their second, and their third. The best keep practicing, they keep trying, until--one day--there is no one left to beat.
The JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) program was created by USA Archery decades ago to produce competitive Olympic athletes for the world stage. Designed for youth archers under the age of 21, our JOAD club is structured to help athletes climb the competitive ladder to a National, or even a World, title. This idea has remained our focus at Lancaster Archery, and we are committed to providing the high-level coaching required to meet such an ambitious goal.
Our JOAD Club meets year-round on Thursday evenings. During the Indoor season, two sessions are held based on age division. From 6:00PM - 7:30PM, the Yeomen, Bowmen, and Cub archers meet, while from 7:30PM - 9:00PM, the Cadet and Junior archers meet. Outdoor season sees everyone combined from 6:00PM until dusk on our Archery Park Field.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Lancaster Archery Academy JOAD Club, please contact us. Newer archers must have both completed our series of six-week classes, and shot an eligible score in order to apply. For more experienced archers who are already competing, we'll set up a meeting with an Academy coach to create a private lesson schedule. Once this schedule is completed, the archer may then apply.
